Thai artist Padsamran was born in 1981 to a show-business family that staged outdoor concerts of Mor lam and Luk thung traditional blues and folk. She began painting concert billboards and backdrops during junior high school, then enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mahasarakham University. For her graduation project, she dismantled old billboards and reconstructed them as sculptures inspired by the poses of Thai folk-song dancers.
