Aoki continues to paint strange pictures while employed as a salaryman. I came across this work when I was a juror at an open-call exhibition at Vanilla Gallery in Ginza. The artist comments:
An amateur yips is a person who asks a prostitute to school him about the depths of sex.
The girl first teaches him the importance of the mind.
She demonstrates her professional skills acquired on the illicit fringes of the adult pleasure industry.Amateur yips are people who get nervous dealing with non-professionals.
